Tigers 5When the SF Giants offense struggles it is easy to get frustrated if one of the pitchers has an bad day and gives up 3 or 4 runs. However, this post-season has really shown how much Giants fans should appreciate the pitching staff. While it may be frustrating to see the Giants lose a 0-1 game or 1-2 game it would be far more frustrating to not only get frustrated with the offense, but watch the pitchers give up 9, 11, or 15 runs.
Four of the Giants starters are in the top 10 for ERA and while ERA is influenced by issues beyond the pitcher’s control ultimately as a fan of a team it is nice to have pitchers who are good at preventing the other team from scoring.
