Ah, the beauty of a Melky Cabrera homerun. The peaceful scoreless innings with Matt Cain on the mound. The patience of Buster Posey taking a walk. The determination of Buster Posey calling five shut-out innings. The excitement of Pablo Sandoval clearing the bases with a triple.
That was a good night for Giants players.

I primarily want Matt Cain to sign an extension to his contract because I want him to remain a Giant. He’s a good pitcher and the Giants need him. But a part of me is also looking forward to not having the baseball portion of my Twitter timeline being taken up by an infinite number of articles that simply repeat that he hasn’t signed the extension.
It will be nice to see articles about Cain getting people out and having shut down innings (and let’s be realistic- suffering from lack of run support).

If you are interested in Cain’s most recent statements about staying with the Giants check his updates for his more complete thoughts.

Baggarly does a pretty good job of being readable even when the actual news is slim.

“Brian Wilson Gnome” has the ring of a phrase that will soon be overused. I wonder how long the beard on the gnome will be.
Is this the complete schedule? It is nice to see that so much is for the team as a whole and Sergio Romo and Madison Bumgarner have definitely earned their cows Bobbleheads, but it seems odd not to have anything honoring Matt Cain.
